About Deacon Michael Hoonhout
Michael Hoonhout was ordained to the permanent diaconate for the diocese of Rockville Centre, NY, on May 20, 2023. He earned his Ph.D in systematic theology from Boston College and his STL from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (the Angelicum) in Rome. He has taught at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington, NY; the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC; and at Saint Joseph’s Seminary and College in Dunwoodie, NY. He serves as deacon at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Center Moriches, NY.
